A NEW YEAR’S GREETING

For this New Year’s wish, here’s what my heart whispered:

May butterflies of love flutter inside us.

May kisses overflow from our arms.

May our hearts beat so wildly with excitement

that their rhythm can be heard two streets away.

May love be felt so deeply that it spills from our seams.

May our friendships thrive,

our tables be filled with laughter and warmth,

our conversations be genuine, joyful, and abundant.

May our wealth be like pomegranate seeds—bursting and multiplying.

May the silent ones finally speak,

and the loud ones pause to listen.

May we run wild with joy,

but also pause to breathe.

And may both be perfect in their own way.

May someone rub the magic lamp and say:

"Take us on a journey!"

Let flying carpets lift us,

let us taste the world’s flavors,

let us hear the whispers of the wind on distant lands.

And as I wrote all this, a childlike voice in me said:

"What could be more beautiful, more joyful, more perfect than this?"

So I penned it down for you.
