ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION

Be mindful when you make a promise.

Throwing around words carelessly, brushing things off with a simple, "yeah, yeah, I’ll do it", or saying "I’ll take care of it" just to get past the conversation—

When life reflects that back at you, don’t be surprised.

You might have had excuses at that moment.

I didn’t mean it like that.I just said it to be polite.

But here’s the thing—

Life operates by a different set of rules.

Just as you made an excuse in one place,

Life will bring an excuse back to you elsewhere.

Because life mirrors what you put into it.

What you do to others,

Life will, in its own way, eventually do to you.

You might say, "But I kept my word, so why didn’t they?"

And life might respond,

"Yes, but remember that other time, with someone else? You didn’t."

Because life doesn’t take individual accounts—

It balances the whole sum.

It doesn’t calculate personal, separate ledgers—

It looks at the entire balance sheet.

At the end of the year,

Are you in profit,

Or in loss?

That’s what truly matters in life’s grand equation.

So—Be mindful of the promises you make,

And the role your words and actions play in the bigger picture.
