BE MINDFUL OF WHAT YOU CARRY

You were only supposed to carry yourself,
Yet, you took on the weight of others.
Your peace, your joy—
They were meant to come from within you,
Yet, you kept searching for them elsewhere.
I don’t know why, but somehow—
You found yourself heavy,
Too difficult to carry.
If today your back is bent,
If your knees ache,
Then perhaps you’re carrying the wrong burden.
What about you?
Are you carrying your own weight, or have you unknowingly taken on what was never yours to bear?
