When you peel back the curtain and see what lies beneath, don’t be surprised if you fall in love with what you find. If anything should shock you, it’s how easily we all fall into the trap of illusion—putting on masks to impress, to belong, to be seen.
I watched what you presented to me and built my dreams upon it. You did the same with the illusion I projected. In the end, we all deceived one another in the most innocent of ways—simply by believing in the performance.
So, do we call it deception, or was it just the longing to be accepted?
Where in your life are you still wearing a mask? What would it take to remove it?
