SHALL TODAY BE THE DAY?

This morning, I am playing a game—
connecting two sentences that crossed my path.
✦ “Everyone is as free as the size of their dreams.”
✦ “When you die, may you leave memories, not unfulfilled dreams.”
Dreaming.
Something we speak of so often,
something we sometimes do.
Dreaming is beautiful.
It gives hope, excitement, joy.
But if you don’t act on your dreams…
If you don’t work for them, move toward them…
If you don’t take the necessary steps…
Then you will die carrying dreams
instead of leaving behind memories.
So let's take a step today.
Maybe that means finishing a book,
or finally starting a new one.
Maybe it means picking up a hammer
and hanging the forgotten painting sitting in the corner.
Maybe it’s making that phone call
you’ve been too scared to make—
the one that could free you from your assumptions.
Maybe it’s doing something about the thing you keep complaining about.
You start—
we’ll follow.
Because we always say “one day.”
But what if today is that day?
Why?
Because none of us know when our time will run out.
And if today isn’t that day—
maybe that day will never come.
