TODAY

Today, I gave thanks at every opportunity.

For being able to walk, see, breathe.

I took life as a gift and peace and joy as a bonus.

The sea, the sun, friendships, and freshly brewed tea.

I did not wait for happiness in some distant "one day."

I embraced it wherever I found it today.

On the way back home,

The sun was setting,

The city was buzzing with life,

Music was playing,

And I was singing along, without stopping.

And that—

Was joy.
